
Co-CEO
Reid is a co-founder and co-CEO of Ochre. Reid taught and led curriculum for over two decades, and brings those experiences to his role at Ochre. Reid is a member of La Trobe University's Science of Language and Reading (SOLAR) Lab. He is experienced in developing coherent curriculum across a range of year levels and contexts, and bridging the gap between educational research and practice.

Co-CEO
Caroline is a co-founder and co-CEO of Ochre. Caroline is an experienced education policy maker and senior public servant in NSW and the UK. Her experience in education system support includes strategy and policy, large-scale system reform, and operational delivery, in collaboration with school leaders and the teaching profession.

Head of Product and Quality
Andy joined Ochre in January 2022 in the initial start up team as a Production Manager. Prior to Ochre, she spent most of her 25-year career in process improvement, organisational change, and people & culture within the automotive and professional services industries. She also undertook Orton Gillingham/Structured Literacy training from the USA and has assisted children with learning difficulties. Andy is passionate about equitable access to education.

Head of Resource Development
Sue has been a teacher for 20 years, working in a range of primary contexts and roles. She has been with Ochre Education since the first lesson production in January 2022 and is currently the Head of Resource Development. Sue's work has involved going on deep dives into Australian curricula, supporting an exceptional team of like-minded educators, and delivering high quality resources and professional learning to teachers, school leaders and systems.

Head of Programs and Partnerships
Julia has spent most of her career working in arts and cultural organisations in education and learning, where she led partnership strategy and programs work. Julia has a passion for education, and has been a governing board member of two primary schools and a youth mentor.

Head of Operations and Major Projects
Sarah is a business operations leader, with 20 years of experience in change, process improvement, project management, strategy, governance and compliance. With a foundation of management consulting, Sarah’s career has extended into industry and more recently focused on scaling up growing teams and organisations.

Sam Bauers is a technology and product leader with 25 years of commercial experience across the domains of marketing, education, online publishing, finance, and media. He is currently the Head of Platform and Product for BrandSpace at Scentre Group.

Chris is co-founder and lawyer of Assured Legal Solutions, a boutique law firm supporting small-to-medium enterprises and their finance/capital partners. He is also a co-founder of Lext, a legal tech company, offering innovative products in the legal training & education and dispute resolution sectors.

Brendan started off his career as a high-school teacher, but left almost 10 years demoralised to open up a cafe! After some soul searching, he decided to re-join the profession, as a primary teacher. Since then, he has fallen down a "rabbit hole" of research on the science of learning and is now committed to supporting as many educators as possible in becoming more evidence-informed so that they can apply it to their teaching. He has worked with schools as a consultant in refining their school improvement processes, managing change and providing professional learning. He has also presented at various conferences including Sharing Best Practice, ACHPER’s Early Career Teachers Conference and the Science of Teaching and Learning.

Nick is an early career teacher, teaching English in a secondary school. Prior to working in schools, Nick was a Senior Associate at Grattan Institute where he co-authored reports on whole-school curriculum, multi-school organisations, and primary maths. He also contributed to reports on catch-up tutoring and early reading. Through this research, Nick conducted case studies of about 30 leading schools and analysed more than 5,000 survey results.Before joining Grattan, Nick worked as a consultant at Nous Group where he contributed to projects on school culture, student assessment, and occupational safety. Nick holds a Master of Teaching from the Melbourne Graduate School of Education.

Paul is a highly experienced educational leader and principal who has worked across the public and private sectors in both New South Wales and Queensland. In his current role as Chief Education Officer within the School Excellence Directorate of the NSW Department of Education, he is responsible for the design and implementation of differentiated school supports, with a focus on strategy and policy. With a proven track record of delivering school improvement at both the school and system level, Paul has been recognised nationally for his leadership. Paul is passionate about nurturing and developing future leaders and supporting the implementation of evidence-informed approaches to education, resulting in improved student outcomes.

Sue Knight is a P-12 teacher and has been a principal for 14 years across four government primary schools in Victoria. With a passion for evidence-informed teaching approaches, Sue has led schools as they have moved to a structured literacy approach. She is committed to ensuring that reading and writing instruction in schools is rigorous, robust, and best designed to get all children across the bridge to literacy. She is a co-founder of Read Ballarat, a small grass-roots organisation offering evidence-informed professional learning to educators in Western Victoria. She is also a founding member of the Sharing Best Practice Ballarat committee. Sue completed a Master of Education (Inclusion and Diversity) at La Trobe University and works to ensure that all children are supported to thrive and succeed at school.

Andrew Nye is an accomplished senior finance executive with a strong background in corporate governance, strategic financial leadership, and organisational transformation. With deep expertise in corporate M&A and long-term value creation, Andrew played a pivotal role during his eight-year tenure at ARN Media, leading its successful transition from a legacy print media business into a digital-first audio platform. A Chartered Accountant and former advisor at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Andrew has worked with a broad portfolio of listed and multinational organisations, bringing a commercial yet purpose-driven lens to complex financial and operational challenges.
