Ochre Learning

Ochre Learning is a series of evidence-informed professional learning programs designed for leaders, teachers, and entire school teams. Our courses help schools implement knowledge-rich, evidence-based curriculum and teaching, so that they can make an even bigger difference to all students, supporting our core mission to challenge inequality.

Each course is developed and presented by members of the Ochre team, and many of our courses involve the opportunity for one-on-one coaching sessions with members of our team.

As a charity, revenue is reinvested into ensuring Ochre core programs always stay free, and helping us to create more evidence-based curriculum and instructional materials for all Australian teachers.

Our course offering covers the following areas:

Curriculum design

Building an evidence-based, knowledge-rich whole-school curriculum

Curriculum planning and implementation

Including supporting teams with collaborative planning, intellectual preparation and responsive teaching

Curriculum Implementation: discipline specific

Using Ochre resources across specific subject areas and phases of learning

We also offer free termly workshops for school leaders, providing an overview of planning using Ochre resources.

All our courses are informed by the best available research and evidence endorsed by the Australian Education Research Organization (AERO) - Australia's national evidence education body, and aligned with the AITSL standards. They include an evidence-based curriculum, drawing on effective pedagogy, current research and international best practice. Take part in a mixture of webinars, coaching and self-directed study. All our courses emphasis opportunities for practice and feedback, anchored in creating or developing a shared practical artefact (for example, a unit of learning or a plan) as a school team. Each includes practical tools and evidence-based strategies you can share and use immediately within your school.
