One of the key features of the Ochre Education curriculum is the coherent, sequenced nature of its knowledge-rich units. Each of the units in the Ochre curriculum links to other units in the sequence, and teachers contributing to the project have carefully considered how key concepts and knowledge could be developed over the course of multiple years, both within and between learning areas.
We are pleased to release the draft overview of our whole school curriculum map for science, history and geography. This curriculum map is aligned to the Australian Curriculum version 9, and indicates which units are core units and which are optional units that schools can choose to take up. We plan to release similar maps for the Victorian Curriculum version 2.0 and the NSW Syllabus later this year.
The purpose of the map is to show the links in knowledge and understanding within and across learning areas. Each unit on the map is linked to one or more other units, with an indication of the key understandings that feed in to future units.
To provide additional context for each of the units in the map, we will be releasing unit overviews for each of the units in Term 3.
You can find the map here: Whole School Curriculum Map - science, history, geography v1.pdf
We welcome feedback on this draft Curriculum Map, both about its content and its presentation. Use this form to contribute to the discussion.

Notes on the map
Each unit on the map is represented by a box. The darker coloured boxes for each subject represent units that are directly related to the Australian Curriculum. The lighter coloured boxes represent units additional to the Australian Curriculum.
Unbroken arrows between units represent links within a learning area, while broken lines represent links between learning areas.
Note that some links have been removed to improve clarity of the map.
