We are very excited to launch Ochre Learning, a series of professional learning courses aimed to support schools and teachers in curriculum design, resource implementation and classroom instruction. Each course is developed and presented by members of the Ochre team, and all courses involve the opportunity for one-on-one coaching sessions with members of our team.

Ochre Learning is offering three courses, open for enrolment now:

1. Planning a whole-school curriculum for school leadership teams (primary)

This year-long program is designed to guide a team of school leaders to develop a school-specific knowledge-rich and coherent curriculum across subject areas. The program aims to build knowledge of what a high-quality, sequenced curriculum looks like, and how teams of teachers can work together to create a curriculum specific to their context.

2. Develop your own novel study unit (Years 3 – 6)

This short program is designed to support teams who are looking to write novel study units in the style of the Ochre Years 3 – 6 units. The program aims to identify the steps required in creating a high-quality study of complex texts, with schools having the opportunity to select a high-quality text to develop. During the program, participants will have the opportunity to gain feedback from the Ochre curriculum team on their units.

3. Developing a knowledge-rich unit

This short program is designed to support teams who are looking to create knowledge-rich, coherent unit plans. The program aims to help teams of teachers to identify the key elements of a knowledge-rich unit, and then plan and create a unit of their own. During the program, participants will have the opportunity to gain feedback from the Ochre curriculum team on their units. Units developed as part of this program could be drawn from any part of the curriculum.
