The Australian Education Research Organisation (AERO) and Ochre Education have today launched a series of sequenced, free video lessons and curriculum resources developed by teachers, for teachers. The resources are available for teachers to use as they wish, to complement their existing teaching and planning.
These resources will save teachers time and ease the pressure in finding and creating teaching and learning resources that embed evidence-based practices. They are also an instant back-up to support teachers with remote learning and lesson cover.
The lessons have been taught by 14 leading teachers from across the country and in all schooling systems.

Lessons are around one hour long and include introductory and exit quizzes, a video explanation from the teacher and a worksheet.
The lessons and resources will support teachers to effectively implement evidence-based practices including explicit instruction and formative assessment, as described in AERO’s Tried and Tested evidence guides for schools.
An additional 200 Ochre video lessons and 800 accompanying resources will be progressively released in Term 1 2022, including more primary maths and English lessons, and secondary science.

Ochre is a free platform, with no sign-ups or logins required.
Ochre is inspired by the UK’s successful Oak National Academy, which was launched by teachers in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The partnership with AERO will enable Ochre to provide an initial offer to teachers, with an ambition to work with Australian teachers to produce 8,000 lessons and materials by the end of the 2022 school year.
